Egg Bake Ingredients

Biscuit Dough

Fluffy and buttery biscuits are the foundation of the dish. I like to use the canned biscuit dough for this recipe. You can use any brand, but I like the Aldi generic brand. Cutting them in quarters makes the perfect size.

Eggs

Eggs are essential for a rich and creamy texture. Whisk them well to incorporate air and fluffiness.

Peppered Gravy

The heart of this dish! Peppered gravy adds a savory kick and coats the biscuit layer beautifully. You can use prepackaged

Ground Sausage

Browned and crumbled sausage provides a hearty and flavorful protein component.

Shredded Cheese

Colby cheese melts beautifully and adds a gooey, cheesy layer to the bake.

Milk

Milk helps create a custard-like consistency when combined with the eggs.

Storing your Egg Bake

Refrigerator Storage:

If stored properly, the egg bake will last in the fridge for about 3-4 days. Be sure to practice food safety. If the sauce doesn’t look right or smells off, it is best to error of the side of caution and toss it.

Freezer Storage:

If you want to extend their shelf life, consider freezing your egg bake. Wrap them securely in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag. It can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. To use, thaw in fridge overnight, then heat.
